Habovka je farnosť od roku 1787, keď cisár Jozef II. zrušil 600 kláštorov, z ich majetku založil fond na podporu rozvoja nový farností. Tohto roku sa prvým habovsko-zubersko-bielopotockým farárom stal Juraj Wagner.

It contains from 58 objects from whole Orava region, on 20 ha. One of the most valuable is gothic chapel from 15 century. In those objects are located original national exhibits and samples from craft manufactory.

Orava Castle
Oravský Podzámok

Orava castle in Oravsky Podzamok from 1297 is unseparatable part of Orava region. Current form of the castle was made during 13th to 18th century by building defencive, tenements and thrifty buildings. This way castle is uniquely arranged - it contains lower, middle and upper, located on castle cliff of 112 meters in high. From 13 to 18 century castle was managed by several owners : Jan from Dubovec, Jan Palfy, Juraj Turza, Edmund Zichym. Renovation work started in 1953; since then castle is operating as a museum.
In present, Orava castle is visited by 80,000 to
90,000 visitors per year.

Beginning of mining and ironmongery industry in Podbiel go as far as 17 century. Orava's monarchy obtained a permission to build ironworks in the village from Substituate Minig Court House in 1819. Building was done 19 years later and named Františkova Huta. Supplyers of iron were surrounding iron mines in Juráňova Dolina, Zuberec, Habovka, or Malatiná. In a fact, ironworks didin't progress because of the fragile iron; besides, owners have problems since they started. After social changes in 1848 and after abolishing the monarchy, ironworks expired in 1863.

In the cementery is located late-gothic chapel from 2nd half of 15th century from Zábreže with paintings from 17th century and 18th century. In village there is monarch double-house from the end of 17th century and classicistic linen houses from 1st half of 19th century. In a local part Medvedzie is located monarchy farm, currently operating as a gallery.

Originaly gothic church renovated in renaissance style in 17th century, re-builded in barocco style in 18th century - renaissance portial. Frantiskan's church from 1706, barocco monastery from 1776, rococo craft huse and bank building from 1903.
